14-Year-Old Boy From Kwekwe Among Five Arrested for Brutal Murder
Five people, including a 14-year-old boy, have been arrested for the murder of 64-year-old Lovemore Marume. Lovemore a former Kwekwe-based educationist was killed along with an unidentified woman. The suspects are currently in police custody.
Dangerous Weapons Found
The suspects were found in possession of various dangerous weapons during their arrest and are currently assisting with investigations. The other suspects are Philip Musekiwa (17), Sean Nyamapfeka (24), Silence Vhumayi (35), Jonas Lameck (28), and Peace Mapfumo (28), all from Kwekwe, according to a report from New Zimbabwe.
Motive for the Murder Unknown
The motive for the murder is yet to be established, according to Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko. “Police (can) confirm receiving reports of two cases of murder where a 64-year-old man and an unknown female were found dead along Ruvimbo Road, Mbizo Kwekwe,” said Mahoko.

The first body discovered was that of a female adult lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the road. A few meters away, the body of Marume was found with multiple stab wounds.
The 14-year-old boy’s case will be handledby a juvenile court, while the other suspects will face trial in a regular court. The community is shocked that a minor could be involved in such a heinous crime. The police are urging anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist with investigations.
