Beitbridge Robbers Apprehended After US$1 Million Blue Circle Bus Heist
The gang of robbers behind the US$1 million heist on a Blue Circle bus on its way to the Beitbridge border have been apprehended.
The incident occurred on July 17th, 2024, when Ashton Siziva (26), Talent Mlaudzi (20), Saul Dadirai (23), and Pheneas Shumba (25), boarded the bus in Harare.

Gang Boards Blue Circle Bus in Harare
According to the reports, the robbers left one member, Elphase Mugudubudze, who is still at large at the Vilvilli bus stop on their way to Harare. While in Harare, the gang of four robbers went to the Mbudzi roundabout terminus and boarded a Blue Circle bus heading to Beitbridge.

Once the bus reached the Vilvilli bus stop, they approached the conductor and requested to be dropped off, where their partner Mugudubudze was waiting.

Robbery Unfolds on the Bus
As the bus stopped, Mugudubudze entered the vehicle, armed with a C75 pistol. The gang immediately pulled out Okapi knives and ordered the driver to drive to a secluded location, where they switched off the engine and lights. They then robbed all passengers their belongings.

Suspects Apprehended and Charged
The matter was later reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the gang. The value of the property stolen is estimated to be more than US$1 million, with only US$126,000 recovered so far. The four suspects are currently remanded in custody, awaiting their trial scheduled for August 2nd, 2024.
