West Property, the developers of the Warren Hills Golf Estate, have announced their commitment to engaging with all stakeholders in the project following a court victory over the eviction of the Warren Hills Golf Club. The Warren Hills Golf Estate is set to be a US$280 million lifestyle development, including an 18-hole golf course of US championship standard, a tennis and swimming academy, residential units and a luxury hotel. The company is waiting for the city council to approve the change of use but is eager to work with all parties to make the project a reality.

The CEO of West Property, Ken Sharpe, expressed his satisfaction with the court’s ruling, saying it demonstrated the reliability of the rule of law in Zimbabwe. He also emphasized the company’s commitment to accommodating all stakeholders as they move forward with the development. The Warren Hills project aligns with the city’s vision of becoming a world-class city by 2025, and West Property is aware that this goal can only be achieved through the participation of the private sector.

“We are very satisfied that the rule of law in Zimbabwe can be relied upon and grateful that our legal team as well as the court and that the club should be able to cut through the many attempted delays to face justice by the other side. We are now confident going forward that our investors will see this as a positive development making the eviction of the current tenants to pave the way for the massive US$280 million project a reality,” he said.

The golf course will remain the main attraction of the Warren Hills Golf Estate, along with other sports facilities for residents, members, and the surrounding community. The general public will have access to swimming pools, tennis courts, running tracks, food and beverage options, and entertainment. Harare City Council, which holds a 30% stake in the project, will benefit from increased revenue and a change of ambience in the area. The development is also expected to result in an appreciation of property values in the vicinity and start the urban evolution of surrounding suburbs.

The Warren Hills development is set to include a top-notch, picturesque golf course with a driving range overlooking a water body, prestigious apartments, free-standing houses and a retirement village. The residential estate around the course will be serviced by a five-star hotel, making it the first of its kind in Africa outside of Morocco and Egypt. With this, West Property is poised to make a significant impact in the city and help brand Harare and Zimbabwe on an international arena.
