Fear Grips Marondera as Yet Another Thigh Vendor Is Found Dead
Marondera, Nyameni, a town gripped by fear, mourns yet another victim as an unidentified alleged thigh vendor is found dead. This tragic incident occurred in the same location where another girl’s lifeless body was discovered last month.
Targeting Vulnerable Thigh Vendors
A disturbing pattern emerges as it is believed that these heartless killers are specifically targeting thigh vendors. In another case confirmed by police this week, they have confirmed arresting a man suspected of brutally murdering his lover in Marondera.
Suspect in Custody
Echfel Musaida Gora aged 26, allegedly stabbed his partner, Sharon Mashowo aged 29, to death. The suspect, who was reportedly involved in a relationship with the deceased, was captured in Mutare after an attempt to end his own life by consuming a poisonous substance.
Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi, the police spokesperson for Mashonaland East province, provided updates on the case.
He stated, “As we speak, he is admitted in hospital and also on police guard. His condition is reported to be stable.”
A Fatal Dispute & Swift Action and Arrest
According to reports, Gora and Mashowo had a heated argument last Thursday, which tragically escalated. Gora allegedly used an Okapi knife to stab Mashowo at the back of her head.
Upon receiving information about Gora’s suicide attempt, law enforcement swiftly identified and apprehended the suspect. Currently, Gora remains hospitalized under police guard, with his condition reported as stable.
Inspector Chazovachiyi’s Statement
Inspector Chazovachiyi reiterated the details, saying, “It is reported that Gora attempted to commit suicide by drinking an unknown poisonous substance in Odzi, Manicaland Province. He was, however, rushed to the hospital. Police were informed and they identified him, leading to his arrest.”
With this recent report of the murder of this young lady, it looks like Marondera has become a dangerous place to walk around or operate in the evening. The Marondera community, along with the police, must work together to implement proactive measures that protect vulnerable members especially these thigh vendors to prevent further tragedies.
