Rusape Man Murdered in Cold-Blooded Attack While Strolling with Girlfriend

A 30-year-old man from Rusape, Antony Shumbaimwe, was brutally murdered by three assailants while strolling with girlfriend.

The suspects, who are now fugitives from justice, waylaid the couple and stabbed Shumbaimwe in the abdomen with a sharp object.

Dumped and Left to Die

After the vicious attack, the assailants callously dumped Shumbaimwe’s lifeless body on the street. This incident took place in the early hours of Monday while the victim and his girlfriend were making their way home from a local watering hole.

The tragic fate of Shumbaimwe has shed light on the unsafe streets of Rusape, particularly during nighttime. The incident has brought attention to the prevalent issue of street crime that has largely been overlooked in the town.

Investigations Underway

Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed Shumbaimwe’s untimely death. He assured the public that investigations are currently in progress to apprehend the perpetrators and hold them accountable for their heinous actions.

Appeal for Information

Assistant Inspector Chinyoka urged members of the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the assailants. He emphasized the importance of reporting to the nearest police station, as swift action is crucial in bringing justice to the grieving family.

A Grim Night and a Grisly Discovery

Recounting the events, Assistant Inspector Chinyoka revealed that Shumbaimwe and his 20-year-old girlfriend had been drinking at Lilly Night Club before leaving around 1 a.m. As they walked home, the three unknown assailants ambushed them near the Seventh Day Adventist Church Turn-off.

In light of this tragic incident, Assistant Inspector Chinyoka implored the public to exercise caution and refrain from walking around at night. The safety of individuals traversing the streets is of utmost concern, and everyone is encouraged to prioritize personal security.
