Police Launch Manhunt for Missing Taxi Driver Who Vanished With His Employer’s Car

A TAXI driver’s mysterious disappearance with his employer’s vehicle and cash has left tongues wagging and the authorities scrambling for answers.

H-metro reports that Blessing Mubvuma, a 34-year-old chauffeur working under the tutelage of Gift Guti, vanished without a trace on January 29, leaving behind a cloud of uncertainty and confusion. Despite concerted efforts by his family and the police to track him down, Blessing remains elusive, much to the chagrin of his boss.

A visibly upset Guti filed a police report against the missing driver at Waterfalls Police Station, under the criminal reference CR 86/02/23. Casting aspersions on the motive behind Mubvuma’s sudden disappearance, Guti revealed that the taxi driver had been making daily cash withdrawals since the beginning of the year, fueling suspicion that he may have absconded with the vehicle.

Guti expressed his misgivings, stating that Mubvuma’s wife, who happens to be a police officer, has been conspicuous in her silence and has shown little concern about her husband’s sudden and unexplained vanishing act. Moreover, he claimed that his instincts pointed towards the possibility that she may be complicit in the murky saga.

Not content to sit back and wait for answers, Guti embarked on a search mission, accompanied by his employee’s wife, who volunteered to lead the entourage to Chegutu, where she claimed Mubvuma was headed. However, their efforts to locate the missing driver hit a snag as no police station had any record of the man or the vehicle.

In a bizarre twist, Constable Enviolatta Nyamande from Harare Central Police Station, who accompanied Guti on his search mission, came under fire from the embattled businessman, who accused her of lackadaisical handling of the case. However, Nyamande vehemently denied any wrongdoing and urged the parties involved to remain calm and allow the authorities to do their job.
