Tinanshe expressed her distress, stating that her husband frequently subjected her to verbal abuse, physical violence, and the humiliating act of being chased away from their shared residence. Determined to find respite, she sought legal intervention to protect herself and secure her right to return home.
“He chases me away from our house. I want him to stop abusing me so that I can return home,” Tinashe pleaded, highlighting her desire for a safe and secure environment.

A Husband’s Explanation
Tapfumaneyi, in his defense, claimed that he had resorted to expelling Tinashe from their home due to her tardiness. According to him, they had attended a funeral together but returned separately. He arrived home first, and Tinashe only appeared in the early hours of the following day.
“I asked her where she was, and she ignored me. I told her to go back where she was,” Tapfumaneyi explained.
He also asserted that the house belonged to his first wife and expressed his wish for Tinashe to vacate the premises.

Justice Served
Magistrate Sharon Mashavira, presiding over the case, carefully considered the evidence presented by both parties. In the interest of restoring peace and safeguarding Tinashe’s well-being, she granted her the requested peace order.
The magistrate explicitly ordered Tapfumaneyi to cease all forms of verbal and physical abuse toward his wife. Additionally, he was directed to permit Tinashe to return to their shared home until a final resolution is reached within the family.
