A 15-year-old boy from the suburb of Pelandaba West in Bulawayo has been taken into custody on charges of raping his 12-year-old cousin, leading to her pregnancy. The community has been left shaken by this heinous crime, which allegedly occurred in December of last year.
Reports indicate that the girl’s older brother instructed her to deliver a pair of shoes to her cousin. Upon her arrival, the young man reportedly pulled her into his house and into his bedroom. Once there, he allegedly forced himself upon her, leaving her traumatized and alone.

The 17-year-old victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, informed her aunt of the traumatic ordeal via WhatsApp, leading to the arrest of Herbert Madhume, 27, who stands accused of this heinous crime.
In response to this heinous act, the Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, issued a statement confirming the arrest and condemned the alleged actions of the accused. The victim was immediately referred to the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for a thorough medical examination, as the authorities work to uncover the truth surrounding this despicable act.
