ZRP Police Launch Manhunt for Rogue Cop in $25K Cash Confiscation Robbery at Quest Financial Services
The ZRP has initiated a manhunt for one of the six rogue officers who were involved in the US$25K cash confiscation during a robbery at Quest Financial Services in Belgravia last month.
Rogue Cops with a History of Crimes
All six officers are believed to be involved in a range of criminal activities, including robberies, extortions, and abuse of office, dating back to 2019.
Guilty Verdict for Security Guards
Last week, Harare Magistrate Ethel Chichera convicted the two security guards, Cornelius Muchikange (35) and Nesbert Kachungwe (35) from J and P Security Company, on theft charges. They were sentenced to two years in prison, with 48 months of imprisonment and 18 months suspended under specific conditions.

Shared Loot and Purchases
he convicted guards split the money. Muchikange spent his share on a Nissan Sylphy sedan (US$3,700) and a residential stand (US$6,000) in Eastview, Harare. He also contributed US$2,500 towards lobola. In contrast, Kachungwe purchased a Nissan AD van (US$6,100) and building materials (US$1,000).

Recovery and Sharing Allegations
Reportedly, the six police officers conducted an investigation and recovered a portion of the money from the guards, which they allegedly distributed amongst themselves.
Cops in the Spotlight
The implicated officers are Detective Sergeant Since Asima (38) from CID, Constable Perseverance Chisango (32) from ZRP Southerton, Constable Weston Muzoriwa (37) from ZRP Dombotombo, Constable Paradzai Matubu from ZRP Bindura Rural, and Constable Fredrick Moyo from ZRP Harare Central. The whereabouts of Constable Prosper Chimbumu, also from ZRP Harare Central Police Station, are unknown.

Manhunt Underway
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest of the five officers and stated that investigations were ongoing. Efforts are being made to locate Constable Chimbumu, who is currently at large.
