South Africa-based Zim Actor & Scandal’s Dr Nyasha Mugari Nabbed For Assaulting Wife
South Africa-based Zimbabwean actor, Jerome Galiao, is in hot water as he has been arrested on allegations of bashing his wife, Nerissa.
The 38-year-old actor, who is widely known for his role in South African soapie Scandal, where he plays the character of Dr Nyasha Mugari, was nabbed by the police and is expected to appear in court today to face a domestic violence charge.
He Has bashed His wife Before
The incident was reported yesterday at Linden Police Station under reference number CAS 280/3/2023. A close source to the couple confirmed the incident to H-metro and said that Jerome is in police custody in Randburg. He was arrested last night and will appear in court today. The source further revealed that this is not the first time that Jerome has assaulted his wife.
“Jerome is in police custody in Randburg. He was arrested last night for domestic violence. He is in the cells and will appear in court on Tuesday (today). You can contact SAPS for more information. This is not the first time he has bashed her.”

Jerome, a model, fitness trainer, and brown belt judo marshal, made his breakthrough as an actor on the Zimbabwean drama series Estate Blues and also served as a presenter on the ZBC show, Youth.com. He is known for featuring in various TV commercials for leading brands such as Playboy, Spar Braai Master, Standard Bank, and Outsurance.
In an interview with myafrikamag.com, Jerome revealed that he was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and grew up in Ardbennie/Mbare. He attended Ardbennie Primary School before proceeding to Prince Edward Boys High School. He always portrays himself as an ordinary person and often motivates his followers by saying, “If ever you want something, go for it, do not let anyone sidetrack you or say it’s not possible.”
Galiao’s Wife Declines Commenting
Meanwhile, Nerissa, his wife, declined to comment on the matter, saying she wants some privacy at this time.
