Sir Wicknell Chivayo Denies Allegations of Vote Buying in ZIFA Elections
Sir Wicknell Chivayo has responded to the ongoing allegations of influencing the ZIFA presidential election outcome through vote buying.
Allegations of Impropriety
Nqobile Magwizi emerged victorious, winning 61 out of 77 votes. His win was overshadowed by serious allegations of vote buying. Magwizi secured an overwhelming 80% of the votes, yet many remain skeptical.

His closest rival, Phillemon Machana, managed only six votes. Twine Phiri received four votes, while Marshall Gore got just one. Makwinji Soma Phiri, astonishingly, finished without any votes. The lopsided result raised eyebrows across social media.
Calls for FIFA Investigation
Some netizens have even drafted a petition to FIFA. They aim to investigate the alleged vote-buying and violations of the FIFA Code of Ethics. Among the accused is tenderpreneur Sir Wicknell Chivayo, who has publicly refuted these claims.

However, Sir has strongly denied these claims and calls them groundless.
“It has come to my attention that an alleged ‘PETITION’ is being intended for submission to FIFA through social media, alleging that my public pledge to support ZIFA under the leadership of NQOBILE MAGWIZI constitutes ‘vote-buying’ and violates the FIFA Code of Ethics. I REFUTE these allegations, which are BASELESS, MISLEADING, and totally UNFOUNDED. My commitment to Zimbabwean football has always been driven by a desire to see the sport THRIVE and reach its FULL potential, not by any ulterior motives to influence electoral outcomes,” stated Chivayo.
