Revenge Gone Wrong: Bulawayo Drunkard Trabalist Arrested for Murdering a Patron

A drunkard trabalist from Bulawayo has been arrested for murdering his patron in revenge for the hurt he endured from Ndola men.

A Chance Encounter Turns Sour

On the day of the crime, Eric Ngonidzashe Jena visited Shelbastic shops to indulge in beer. During his drinking spree, he spotted Wilfred Maderera passing by. Eager to chat, Jena attempted to stop him. However, Maderera, noticing Jena’s intoxication, ignored him and continued on his way.

Rage and Insults

This rejection infuriated Jena. He followed Maderera, shouting insults. Jena unleashed his rage, expressing his hatred for men from Ndola, claiming they had hurt him in the past. Maderera tried to escape, but Jena was relentless.

A Fatal Confrontation

Jena then smashed the beer bottle he was holding on the ground before stabbing Maderera twice, once in the neck and once in the shoulder. Maderera fell to the ground, crying out for help. Tragically, an ambulance arrived too late, Maderera had already passed away.

Eyewitness Testimony

Witness Rossane Muzenda testified about the horrific scene.

“He shouted his hatred for men from Ndola and then smashed a beer bottle,” she recounted. “Jena chased after two men who escaped, then pursued Wilfred and stabbed him with the broken bottle.”

Justice Served

The police were notified, and Jena was arrested. He appeared before Bulawayo High Court Judge Naison Chivayo, facing a murder charge. The evidence against Jena was overwhelming. He was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in jail.
