He cautioned that surrendering their authority to their wives could lead to disastrous outcomes. “If a man allows his wife to rule over him, that man has already lost his marriage,” he stated.

Makandiwa warned that failure to maintain one’s responsibilities as a husband would inevitably lead to divorce. “You will notice in life, if you are to go. Some of you are going to yield to that. You are going to surrender your responsibility as a man and allow her to rule over you,” he declared.
