Tenant Taunts HIV-Positive Landlady
In another story, a woman in Harare has approached the civil court seeking a peace order against her tenant. She’s accusing her of emotionally abusing her because of her HIV status. The complainant alleges that her tenant causes her psychological trauma by constantly taunting her because of her HIV status.
The tenant has been accused of using obscene language to provoke and insult her landlady. The landlady told the court that the tenant publicly disclosed her HIV status, causing her embarrassment in the neighbourhood.
The tenant, however, denied the allegations and instead accused the landlady of concocting the charge to justify her eviction.
