Nyanga Female Bartender Arrested After Slapping Customer Over 50 Cents

A female bartender from Nyanga has been arrested for slapping a customer over a dispute regarding his 50 cents change.

Dispute Over 50 Cents Sparks Dramatic Scene

The incident occurred on July 30, 2024, at Little Swallows Bar in Nyanga.
Reports indicate that Collan Misho, 34, was enjoying drinks when he asked bartender Nyaradzo Mubau, 30, for his 50 cents change. Nyaradzo refused to give him the change, prompting Collan to leave and change bars.

Bartender Follows Customer to Confront Him

When Nyaradzo realized Collan had stopped buying beer, she inquired about his whereabouts. Upon learning that he had switched bars, she followed him to confront him.

Bartender Slaps Customer

Collan explained that he was upset about the 50 cents change. This response angered Nyaradzo, who then slapped him three times across the face before returning to her workplace. Feeling wronged, Collan went directly to the police station to file a report. His complaint led to Nyaradzo’s arrest for assault.

Court Proceedings

Nyaradzo appeared before the Nyanga Magistrates’ Court facing serious charges. The court found her guilty and sentenced her to six months in prison. However, three months of the sentence were suspended, contingent on good behavior.

“The accused person was sentenced to six months imprisonment, of which three months were suspended on condition of good behavior,” read the NPAZ press statement. “A further three months were wholly suspended on condition that she performs 105 hours of community service.”
