Mutare Serial Sodomizer Arrested After Brutal Assault on 40-Year-Old Man

A Mutare serial sodomizer has been arrested for sodomizing a 40-year-old man returning home from Kuhudzai shops.

A Night of Horror

This shocking incident occurred on May 4, 2024, around 10 PM. According to reports, the victim was walking home when he heard a voice calling him from behind. He ignored the voice until the 50-year-old suspect caught up with him. As they walked together, the sodomizer started asking random questions, which the victim chose not to answer.

The Attack Unfolds

Angered by the lack of response, the suspect grabbed the victim by the neck and squeezed tightly. He then pushed the man to the ground, forcibly removing his clothes before committing the horrific act.

The victim attempted to scream for help, but no one came to his aid. The assault left the victim with bruises on his neck, swelling around his right eye, and a swollen mouth. The terrifying experience deeply traumatized him.

Coming Forward

The incident came to light when the victim confided in a friend about the assault. His friend encouraged him to report the crime to the police and assured him there was no shame in seeking justice. Taking this advice, the victim went to the police station and filed a report.

The swift action from the police led to the arrest of the serial sodomizer. He appeared before the Mutare Magistrates Court, facing serious charges of aggravated indecent assault. After reviewing the evidence, the court found him guilty and sentenced him to 15 years in prison.
