Married Man Seeks Protection Order as Girlfriend Abruptly Dumps Their Baby on His Boss
Nelson Mwale, a married man with five children, is pleading for a protection order against his girlfriend after she abruptly dumped their baby in the hands of his boss following a dispute. Tatenda Mapfumo, who is now four months pregnant, has suddenly chosen to disclose her existence to Nelson’s family after six years of secrecy.
A Six Year Hidden Romantic Relationship
For the past six years, Nelson and Tatenda had been engaged in a clandestine romantic affair, resulting in the birth of a child. Throughout this time, the affair remained concealed from Nelson’s wife and their four children.
However, Tatenda’s sudden decision to introduce herself to Nelson’s family shattered the veil of secrecy and triggered turmoil within the household. Nelson asserts that this unexpected revelation has disrupted the tranquility of his home.
The Protection Order
In an effort to restore stability, Nelson appeared before the Harare Civil Court, seeking a protection order against Tatenda. He expressed his grievances, citing that his girlfriend had no right to intrude upon his family, causing distress to his wife and children.
“I am living in constant turmoil. She once arrived at my workplace and handed our baby to my boss, which was incredibly embarrassing,” stated Nelson. “She has divulged personal details and intimate conversations, creating tension in my household, despite my support for her.”
Conflicting Perspectives Emerge
Tatenda, however, presented a different narrative. She disclosed that on April 13, a heated altercation ensued, prompting Nelson to abandon his vehicle at her house and return to his wife. In response, Tatenda went to Nelson’s home, hoping to confront him.
“He was furious that I introduced myself to his wife and children, despite the fact that we have been together for six years, and he never communicated any change in his feelings toward me,” stated Tatenda.
