A man from Shamva lost money after being attacked by robbers while having sex with a woman at a football ground in Mbare on Monday. Isaac Chingoza, a 22-year-old man from Mugobo Gold Mine, had hired Tatenda Vengesai, a 29-year-old woman from Mbare, for sex.

While the two were engaged in sexual intercourse, Ethan Mugore, a 40-year-old man, appeared with some unknown men and attacked and robbed Isaac.

Upon investigation, Isaac realized that Tatenda was Ethan’s accomplice and reported the matter to the police.

Ethan and Tatenda were arrested and detained at Stodart Police Station. Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said that Isaac sustained a deep cut on the nose and was referred to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital.

According to Inspector Chakanza, the incident occurred at around 4 am on March 27th, when Isaac was drinking beer at Nyaumwe Bar. He then approached Tatenda, and they agreed to have sexual intercourse.

The two went to Number 7 grounds in Mbare, where they had sexual intercourse. Suddenly, Ethan appeared with three unknown male adults, and he was reported to have struck Isaac with a brick on the face, demanding cash.

When Isaac refused to give them cash, Ethan stabbed him with a knife on his left arm. The accused persons then searched Isaac’s pockets, took US$85 and an Itel cellphone, and left the scene.

“The accused person Ethan was reported to have struck the complainant with a brick on the face demanding cash.

“Complainant refused and the accused person went ahead and stabbed him with a knife on his left arm,” Inspector Chakanza said in a statement.

The police have since arrested Ethan and Tatenda, who are now facing charges of robbery.
