List Of Notable Zanu-PF Bigwigs Who Lost Primary Elections
Zanu-PF’s highly anticipated primary elections finally took place over the weekend and resulted in some unexpected losses for influential party members.
Several significant figures failed to secure their bid to represent Zanu-PF in this year’s elections and have expressed their intention to challenge the results.
Mike Bimha, Zanu-PF’s political commissar, stated that they expect to receive all the election results today, with an ad hoc committee convening tomorrow to review any complaints.
Phillip Chiyangwa, Simbauneta Mudarikwa, Webster Shamhu, and Kindness Paradza were among the bigwigs who suffered defeats in the party’s primary elections.

Fortune Chasi
Fortune Chasi, also known as Chibabest, the former Minister of Energy and Power Development, was defeated by Nobert Mazungunye in Mazowe South constituency. Chasi, who is the current legislator in the constituency, accepted his loss gracefully on Twitter.
John Mangwiro
John Mangwiro, the Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care and incumbent legislator for Chikomba West, was defeated by former Studio 263 actress Tatenda Mavetera in the Zanu-PF primary elections for the constituency.
Dexter Nduna
Dexter Nduna, the incumbent legislator for Chegutu West, suffered a crushing defeat in the party’s polls as Last Chigavazira emerged victorious in the constituency’s primary elections. However, Nduna accused his opponent of using violent tactics during the voting process.
Mary Mliswa
Mary Mliswa Chikoka, the Minister of State for Mashonaland West Province, lost her bid to represent Zanu-PF in Hurungwe West. Her brother, Temba Mliswa, who is an independent politician, took to Twitter and vented about how the election was rigged.
Sekai Nzenza
Minister of Industry and Commerce, Sekai Nzenza, lost in the Zanu-PF primary elections for the Chikomba East constituency to her cabinet colleague Felix Mhona, who is the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.
Joseph Chonitimba
Seasoned politician and incumbent legislator for Buhera South, Joseph Chinotimba, was defeated by Ngonidzashe Mudekunye in the Zanu-PF primary elections for the constituency.
Justice Mayor Wadyajena
Justice Mayor Wadyajena was defeated by Flora Buka, former Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office, in the Zanu-PF primary elections for the Gokwe Nembudziya constituency. Wadyajena claimed on Twitter that Buka prematurely celebrated her win as the Zanu-PF supporters in the constituency were still casting their votes
