The family of David Matambo, Diva, who was allegedly killed at Afro 161 Bar popularly known as KwaBelinda in Harare, has spoken out about their grief and the investigation into his death. According to family spokesperson Sarah Matambo, they are awaiting the results of the post-mortem before making burial arrangements.

Sarah Matambo, the spokesperson for the Matambo family, expressed their grief and confusion over the tragic incident. She stated that the family is still in the process of grieving and struggling to comprehend what exactly happened that night. The family is awaiting the post-mortem results before making burial arrangements for David, reported h-metro.

“As a family, we are still grieving and failing to understand what exactly is happening,” Sarah said. “We heard that the post-mortem will be done tomorrow (today) at Parirenyatwa Hospital. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.”

The family’s reaction highlights the emotional toll that this incident has had on them. They are seeking answers and justice for their loved one’s untimely death.

Murder Suspect Appears in Court

Callisto Maruwo appeared in court on Tuesday, where he was charged with murder. He represented himself but arrived at court with his lawyer, Arshiel Mugiya, for vetting. Maruwo was remanded in custody until July 12 pending indictment for trial.

During the court proceedings, intricate details surrounding the murder emerged. The court papers revealed the sequence of events leading up to the assault and provided evidence of the alleged brutal attack on David Matambo.
