Kuromba Gone Wrong: Lobengula West Student Scammed Over US$6000 by Ghanaian Godfather in Sinister Plot
A high school student from Lobengula West who wanted to sacrifice his friend for riches lost over US$6,000 to a Ghanaian godfather.
A Desperate Quest for Wealth
According to reports, the student discovered a link in his WhatsApp school group. This group, run by an individual claiming to be the “godfather,” piqued his interest. After joining, the boy received a direct message in his inbox. The godfather asked him to choose between winning the lottery, gaining fame, or accumulating wealth.

A Dangerous Choice
The boy opted to accumulate wealth and received further instructions. He needed to send money to the godfather’s account along with a picture of the person he wanted to sacrifice. In a desperate move, he stole his mother’s money, US$230 and R1,000, and sent it along with his best friend’s picture.
After sending the money, the boy was told to prepare for a specific day. He needed to burn candles on that day to ensure his friend would die, allowing him to receive hundreds of dollars. Unfortunately, the promised riches never materialized, and he has not heard from the godfather since.
The Truth Comes to Light
The bizarre story came to light when the boy’s mother discovered her money was missing. Concerned and confused, she reported the theft to the police. During the police investigation, the family underwent intense questioning.

Eventually, the boy confessed to stealing the money and revealed the entire story. He explained how he had been scammed by the godfather and shared his misguided quest for wealth.
