Karoi Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Brutally Molesting Ex-Wife

A Karoi man has been convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison for molesting his ex-wife in their old bedroom.

Ex-Wife’s Belongings Retrieval

According to court records, the incident occurred on April 25th, 2024. On that day, the woman went to her ex-husband’s home with her uncle to retrieve her belongings. When they arrived, the ex-husband requested a private conversation with his former spouse in the bedroom.

Violent Attack in the Bedroom

Upon entering the bedroom, he then locked the door and dragged her onto his bed. They started wrestling on the bed until he overpowered her. He then molested her once before the uncle and other neighbors could hear the noise from her screams.

Police Intervention and Arrest

The uncle and neighbors attempted to open the door but were unsuccessful. They then called the police, who managed to rescue the woman and arrest her ex-husband.

Harsh Sentence for Heinous Crime

The ex-husband appeared before the Karoi Magistrate’s Courts, facing rape charges. He was ultimately sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment for his despicable actions.

“A 49-year-old man from Chikangwe, Karoi, appeared before Karoi Magistrate’s Court, charged with raping his 26-year-old ex-wife. The accused person was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment,” read the NPAZ press statement.

Odzi Man Convicted of Raping Mentally Challenged 13-Year-Old

In another news, a 39-year-old man from Odzi was convicted for dating a 13-year-old mentally challenged girl. The man appeared before Mutare Magistrate’s Court facing rape charges. He was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
