Mabvuku Holy Horror Church Scandal: Pastor’s Wife Fights for Life After Husband Unleashes Brutal Hoe Attack over US$10 Loan
A Pentecostal church pastor’s wife from Mabvuku is fighting for her life after being struck on the face with a hoe by her husband during a dispute over a US$10 loan. Pastor Nyamudyariwa aged 34, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
A Terrifying Encounter
The incident unfolded in New Mabvuku when Nyamudyariwa’s wife, Tsitsi Mhizha, mentioned that she would repay the US$10 loan the following day. Enraged by her response, the pastor first struck her on the face with a shoe before resorting to a more brutal weapon, a hoe.

With a powerful blow, he struck his wife on the head, causing a deep cut and leaving her in critical condition. She is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital, fighting for her life.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Following the shocking attack, Pastor Nyamudyariwa was swiftly apprehended and now faces charges of attempted murder. During his initial court appearance, Harare regional magistrate Taurai Manuwere remanded him in custody until May 3. Nyamudyariwa was further informed that only the High Court had the authority to grant bail in this case.

Suspected Armed Robber Shot in Bulawayo
In a separate incident, a 35-year-old suspected armed robber, James Moyo, was shot and injured in Bulawayo. He had attempted to disarm a police officer who was armed with a CZ pistol loaded with six rounds.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, confirmed the incident. He stated that Moyo was shot in the stomach and immediately taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
