Uncertainty Surrounds Cause and Damage of Mbare Musika Fire

Firefighters Face Challenges
In a series of updates posted on Facebook, the City of Harare reported on the fire response. Three fire trucks, along with a volunteer group, rushed to the scene. However, firefighters struggled to reach the area due to large crowds, some of whom engaged in looting.

Mbare Community Response
The City of Harare expressed gratitude for the efforts of the police and emergency teams. “The fire at Mbare Musika is now under control only after the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) cleared the huge crowd that had gathered,” the city stated.
Fire tenders and water bowsers from the Emergency Help Group played a crucial role in managing the situation. The city praised its own fire team for their effective response.
