Grandson Arrested for Physically Assaulting Grandmother Over Matches Dispute
A 29-year-old grandson from Karoi has been arrested and convicted for physically assaulting his own grandmother over a matches dispute.

According to reports, the grandson had asked his grandmother for matches, but was told they were in the spare bedroom. When he couldn’t find the keys, an argument erupted, and the situation quickly spiraled out of control.

Vicious Attack on Granny
The grandson then started shouting at his granny with anger, leading him to first slap his granny on the cheek. The violence didn’t end there. As the grandmother tried to block the second slap, the enraged grandson grabbed a stick and began striking her all over her body. He then picked up a brick and used it to attack her hand.

Granny Flees for Safety, Leads to Grandson’s Arrest
Fearing for her life, the battered grandmother managed to escape and rush to the police station, leading to the immediate arrest of her vicious attacker.

Grandson Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison
The grandson appeared before the Karoi magistrate court on domestic violence charges for the physical abuse of his grandmother. He was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment, of which 6 months were suspended for 5 years. He will now serve 18 months effectively.

“The accused person was convicted and sentenced to 24 months imprisonment of which 6 months were suspended for 5 years. He will serve 18 months effectively,” read the NPAZ press statement.
