Couple Turns Marriage Into Wrestlemania | Judge Grants Protection Orders Against Each Of Them
The courtroom was filled with tension and emotion as a married couple appeared before Magistrate Tamara Chibindi yesterday, each accusing the other of violent behavior. Gertrude Ushamba, the wife, bravely took the stand first and recounted the traumatic experiences she had endured at the hands of her husband, James Nyamusi.
“He is of a violent nature,” she began, her voice shaking with emotion. “I have a broken arm because of him, and sometimes he chases me out of our bedroom. When I go to sleep with the kids, he then comes and forces me to have sex with him in front of the kids.”
Ms. Ushamba went on to reveal that she had been forced to escape through a window to attend the court session, as her husband had locked her inside their home. “I am still wearing my pyjamas as you can see,” she added, gesturing towards her clothing.
According to H-metro, James Nyamusi, however refuted these allegations, insisting that he had never laid a hand on his wife. “We argue like any other couple,” he explained, “but I have never been violent towards her.”
Magistrate Chibindi was quick to notice that Mr. Nyamusi’s face was visibly swollen, and questioned him about it. He claimed that his wife and her friends had assaulted him, and that he was actually the one suffering.
Despite the conflicting accounts, Magistrate Chibindi granted both parties protection orders against each other and urged them to seek peaceful means of resolving their conflicts in the future. The courtroom fell silent as the couple left, their future uncertain and their relationship marred by allegations of violence.
