A manhunt is ongoing in Chitungwiza for a man who allegedly sexually abused a 14-year-old boy and transmitted a sexually transmitted infection to him.
Victim and Suspected Abuser Reside in Same Neighborhood
Both the victim and the suspected perpetrator reside in the CA area of the St Mary’s neighborhood. The boy’s aunt, who is his guardian, noticed that the teen was limping last Friday but did not know the reason. The boy’s friends present at the time laughed when she asked, reported hmetro.. The following day, the boy found it difficult to get up and the aunt asked a male neighbor to check on him.
The neighbor quizzed the boy until he confessed that the suspect had infected him with an STI. A report was filed at St Mary’s Police Station. The minor was assisted with a medical affidavit to seek medical attention at Chitungwiza Central Hospital.

Residents Moot Demonstration to Protect Children
The CA residents are mooting a demonstration to be held at the home of the suspect to chase him from the neighborhood and protect more children from potential abuse.
According to one resident, “That man took advantage of the fact that the boy comes from a poor family. He deserves to be jailed for life so that he cannot harm other kids.”
The boy dropped out of school because his guardian could no longer afford to pay fees. He was given small amounts of money like 200 bond to buy snacks.
