Bulawayo Woman Arrested for Stabbing Neighbor over Fallen Clothes
A Bulawayo woman has found herself in hot water after allegedly stabbing her neighbor over a dispute about fallen clothes. Jester Tshuma, 39, has been arrested and sentenced to 5 years in prison for the shocking attack.
Clothes Controversy Sparks Confrontation
The incident occurred on February 19th, around noon, when Tshuma approached her neighbor, Sithembile Dube, 38, over clothes that had fallen from Dube’s washing line. It is alleged that Tshuma approached Dube over her clothes that had fallen from the washing line. The two women then got into a heated altercation over the matter.

An hour later, Tshuma noticed Dube heading to the borehole and decided to confront her again. As she reached Dube, she started insulting her, asking her to repeat the words she had said earlier. Dube then told her to leave her alone, but Tshuma refused, pushing her instead.

The Violent Confrontation
According to the report, the situation quickly escalated. Tshuma then grabbed Dube’s t-shirt and started insulting her. Fortunately, a good Samaritan named Bigboy Nyathi was passing by and intervened to separate the two women. However, Tshuma was not done. She then immediately pulled out a knife from her pocket and stabbed Dube in the chest. Dube sustained a deep cut and bled heavily.

Husband Fined for Assaulting Wife
In another incident, a 27-year-old man from Gweru was sentenced to pay a US$200 fine for physically abusing his wife.
Violent Altercation
According to court proceedings, the accused, on May 30th, had an altercation with his wife in the middle of the night. It is alleged that the husband then started beating his wife with his fists several times all over her body.

Wife Seeking Refuge
The wife then fled to seek refuge in her brother’s room. A police report was later made, which led to the arrest of the husband.
