Bulawayo Wife Convicted for Intentionally Killing Husband by Setting Him Ablaze
A 42-year-old wife from Bulawayo has been convicted and sentenced to 10 years in jail for intentionally killing her husband by pouring petrol on him and setting him ablaze.
Wife Faces Murder Charges
Sindiso Ndlovu from Maphisa appeared before Bulawayo Magistrate’s Courts facing murder charges. The court heard that on October 19, 2019, the couple had a disagreement in their bedroom over the late husband’s infidelity.

Wife Kills Husband by Setting Him Ablaze
Due to anger, the wife then locked the door while in the middle of the argument. She then doused her husband with petrol before setting him ablaze. Neighbors hearing the noise and screams went to the nearest police station and filed a report, leading to the wife’s arrest.
Husband Dies from Burn Injuries after Attack
The husband was later that day taken to Maphisa District Hospital and further transferred to United Bulawayo Hospital. Unfortunately, he lost his life due to injuries succumbed from the burns on January 8th.

In other news, Former Deputy Minister Bright Matonga has been released on a US$600 bail by the Chegutu Magistrates’ Court. He faces charges on two counts of theft.
Charges Against Matonga
The politician was arrested over charges of theft of farming implements yesterday, according to widespread reports. Matonga had been held in remand by the police in Chegutu before his bail hearing, which was set for today. On December 10, 2021, Matonga allegedly appropriated two John Deere tractors from Monchris (Landos) farm in Sealous without permission. The tractors, valued at US$70,000, were relocated to his own property, Chigwell farm in Chegutu. Fortunately, both tractors have been recovered.
