Bulawayo Police Officer Swallows $5 Bribe Money And Urinates on Himself To Avoid Arrest
In a scene straight out of a comedy sketch, a police officer stationed at Tshabalala Police Station in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, was caught red-handed taking a $5 bribe from a motorist at a roadblock.
But instead of facing the music, he quickly swallowed the cash and proceeded to wet himself when his bosses tried to arrest him.
According to reports, Constable Martin Marambire was manning a roadblock along Plumtree Road for a sting operation code-named “No to illegal meat” (because apparently, that’s a thing).
He stopped a car, searched it, and found nothing that could attract arrest.
But then, he was allegedly spotted receiving the bribe money by one of his bosses who moved in to take the money from him.
To avoid getting caught, Marambire decided to swallow the cash, and when his bosses tried to make him spit it out, he wet himself in fear.
“He was then spotted receiving US$5 by one of his bosses who swiftly moved closer to him to take the money but he quickly swallowed it.
When they throttled him so that he could spit it, he then wet himself,” a police source said to the media.
His bosses searched him to find the evidence, but they couldn’t find anything. They threatened to detain him, but eventually decided to arrest him instead.
Marambire is now set to appear for a disciplinary hearing before an internal ZRP court at Nkulumane District Headquarters, where he will be represented by his lawyer Tinashe Dzipe.
It’s unclear whether Marambire had a change of heart or if he’s just really bad at taking bribes, but either way, he definitely got himself in a sticky situation.
