Beitbridge Man Arrested for Molesting His Form Two Cousin on New Year’s Day
A 25-year-old man from Beitbridge has been arrested for allegedly molesting his 15-year-old cousin on New Year’s day.
A Mother’s Trust Misplaced
The man, a resident of Chief Sitaudze, received and accepted a call from the girl’s mother to look after her children. The mother left her children in the man’s care on December 31, 2024. She and the predator shared lunch with the children before she departed for church. Little did she know that this decision would lead to a nightmare for her daughter.

A Disturbing Assault on New Year’s Day
On January 1, the predator woke his cousin from her sleep early in the morning. He then began to caress her breasts, prompting the girl to scream for help. Her younger sibling rushed out to assist her, but the predator quickly escalated the situation. He grabbed a silver knife from the kitchen and threatened the young sibling, who fled in fear.
A Harrowing Ordeal in the Bush
Taking advantage of the chaos, the predator forcefully carried his cousin to a nearby bush. There, he continued his assault, caressing her while holding the knife. He threatened to kill her if she did not comply with his demands. The girl, terrified for her life, obeyed his orders to remove her clothes and lie down before being molested.
A Mother’s Response to Nightmare
After the heinous act, the predator told the girl to run home. She managed to flee and immediately called her mother, recounting the horrifying ordeal. The mother, distraught and furious, rushed back home and reported the incident to the police. The police swiftly acted on the mother’s report, leading to the predator’s arrest.
