Avenues Thigh Vendors Land in Court for Robbing Client

Three Avenues thigh vendors appeared in court, facing charges of robbery after a client accused them of robbing him during a confrontation over payment.

Confrontation Turns Violent

The complainant, John Mukoma, approached Aisha Marira for her services, agreeing to pay US$5 for a brief encounter. However, upon arriving at Gail Court in Avenues, Marira claimed that the payment was insufficient.

Marira took matters into her own hands and called upon her accomplices, Panashe Kamunhu and Primrose Muduchwa, to join her. They confronted Mukoma, demanding more money and escalating the situation into a violent assault.

Robbery Ensues

The group then proceeded to rob Mukoma of his belongings before fleeing the scene. The stolen items included his phone, Adidas wristwatch, and a sum of US$40. Realizing the severity of the incident, Mukoma wasted no time and promptly reported the crime to the local authorities.

Assailants Identified

Thanks to Mukoma’s detailed account and information, the police were able to identify the alleged assailants involved in the robbery. The group of sex workers now faces charges of robbery, a serious offense that could carry significant consequences if they are found guilty.

Sex Worker Sentenced to Labour After Fatal Stabbing at Kariba Party

In a separate incident, a sex worker who fatally stabbed her boyfriend during a party in Kariba has been sentenced to perform 620 hours of labour. The High Court judge reasoned that the offender, Sibongile Siyanjalika, had minimal moral blame in the incident.

Fatal Stabbing Amidst Jealousy

The stabbing occurred during the Nyaminyami Festival at Lake Harvest, Kariba, when a scuffle broke out between Sibongile and her boyfriend, Keith Kadziyange. Keith had accused Sibongile of interacting with male patrons while they were both working as cleaners at the outdoor event. Consumed by jealousy, Keith assaulted Sibongile, dragging her, which prompted her to break an empty bottle and attack him on the neck. Keith suffered profuse bleeding and tragically lost his life as a result.
