Zimbabwe’s Political Elite Target Hopewell Chin’ono After Minister Muswere Joins Advocate Chamisa in Blocking Him on X
Zimbabwe’s Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Jenfan Muswere, has joined forces with Advocate Nelson Chamisa to block journalist Hopewell Chin’ono on X.
Allegations Spark Controversy
This social media showdown follows serious allegations made against Chin’ono by his ex-girlfriend, Comfort Dondo. Last week, award-winning journalist Chin’ono found himself trending after Comfort Dondo accused him of engaging with “thigh vendors.” In response to the allegations, Chin’ono took to Twitter, warning young male political activists in Zimbabwe. He urged them to be cautious about women allegedly sent by ZANU PF to “honey trap” them.

“You probably read the emails and WhatsApp messages sent to me by a woman called Comfort Dondo, which I posted on Twitter as a warning to others. She was sent to trap me by the regime, using honey trap methods. I saw her intentions from afar, rebuffed her, and she went ballistic after two years of trying to get close to me,” stated Chin’ono.
Political Fallout with Chamisa
Chin’ono’s troubles did not end with Dondo. Former CCC founder Nelson Chamisa also blocked him, citing his behavior as unacceptable.
Chamisa remarked, “He has chosen politics or lies and hate. He will be treated as a toxic politician.”
Minister Muswere Joins the Fray
Minister Muswere followed Chamisa’s lead, blocking Chin’ono while labeling him a “cyber terrorist.” He expressed his disdain for Chin’ono’s journalistic practices.
Minister Muswere declared, “Mr. KNOW IT ALL goatwell and your friends, you are cyber terrorists, merchants of falsehoods, and a disgrace to the profession. Practising Brown envelope journalism. Fundraising for Dogs and Whiskey.”
