Chief Nyamaropa presided over the case, seeking to mediate the dispute. During the proceedings, the chief first asked the father how much he wanted for bride price. The father initially demanded US$1,500. However, Chief Nyamaropa ordered the husband to pay only US$1,000.

Husband Shares His Side of the Story
Before the court was dismissed, the husband shared his side of the story. He explained how the couple had drifted apart, culminating in the shocking betrayal. “I caught my wife sending nude pictures to her boyfriend,” he revealed.

In an attempt to salvage their marriage, he took her to her aunt for counseling. Unfortunately, the wife had already moved on. She informed her aunt and father that she no longer loved her husband and wanted a divorce.

Despite ordering the husband to pay the bride price, Chief Nyamaropa shared some words of wisdom. He cautioned the father about supporting his daughter in her “wicked actions.” He warned that such behavior would eventually come back to haunt him.
To the daughter, the chief said, “Not all that glitters is gold.” He advised her that she might regret divorcing her husband in the future.
