Mozambican Teenager Arrested with More Than 5Kg of Mbanje
A 18-year-old Mozambican teenager has been arrested for carrying more than 5kg of mbanje in his satchel.
Shocking Bust on Inter Africa Bus
The court heard that on the 18th of June this year, along Ngundu Road, an Inter Africa bus was stopped by the police. The police then searched the passengers and discovered a black satchel that was containing a blue plastic bag. They ordered the owner of the bag to open the plastic bag. Upon opening, they found more than 5kg of mbanje.

24 Months Imprisonment for Unlawful Possession
The Mozambican appeared before Chipinge Magistrates Courts for the unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.

“During the search, they discovered a blue plastic bag containing 5200 grammes of dagga in the accused person’s black satchel,” stated the NPAZ press statement. “The accused person was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment.”

Ethiopians Arrested for Immigration Violations
In another news, 9 Ethiopian nationals were arraigned before the Karoi Magistrate Court for contravening the Immigration Act. On the 25th of April this year, at the Chirundu border post, the accused entered Zimbabwe without valid permits, in violation of the Immigration Act.

Police Crack Down on Illegal Ethiopian Immigrants
Immigration officers received a tip-off about the location of the accused, and the police went to the place and arrested the 9 Ethiopians. This crackdown on illegal immigration underscores the government’s efforts to maintain strict border control and ensure the safety of its citizens.
