Netizens Express Anger Over Sir Wicknell Chivayo’s Boastful Audio About Capturing President Mnangagwa
Zimbabwean netizens have reacted angrily towards Sir Wicknell Chivayo’s boastful audio, in which he is heard bragging about how much he has captured the President of Zimbabwe, ED Mnangagwa, and his party, ZANU-PF.
Chivayo’s Alleged Boasts About Capturing the System
Newshawks, earlier today, released audio of Wicknell Chivayo allegedly bragging about how he captured president and his party. In the audio, Chivayo gloats that he has a tight grip on the system and is now its blue-eyed boy, getting all important contracts. He revealed that the president now considers him a son. Chivayo also said when ED went to the Italy-Africa Summit, he held his hand and gave him orders on what to do in his absence.
“What are said is bring in new work. Chunhu ndakachibata kuti dzvii, kwete zvekufungidzira” stated Chivayo.
Tenders and Allegations of Capture
Chivayo further revealed that he is likely to secure tenders for the ZRP and the Immigration Department, despite the requirement for a competitive bidding process. He also claimed he could pay off others, like Moses Mpofu of Better Brands Security and Mike Chimombe, with US$100K to “get by” without making noise.

The Gwanda Solar Project Controversy
Chivayo’s Intratek company has been embroiled in controversy over the Gwanda Solar Project. In 2015, Intratek was awarded a $172 million tender, but nine years later, nothing has been done on the site despite Chivayo receiving a $5 million advance payment.
