Hurungwe Father Arrested for Murdering Son, Claims Angelic Instruction from God

A father from Hurungwe has been arrested for allegedly murdering his own son, claiming that he was instructed to do so by an angelic voice from God.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Murengwa confessed to law enforcement officials that he strangled his son after being commanded by an angel. The tragic incident unfolded at Madzimoyo Farm.

Yesterday morning, Murengwa was taken to the farm for crime reconstruction, where he demonstrated to the police how he committed the heinous act.

Armed Robbery Encounter Ends in Hospitalization

In a separate incident, a 35-year-old suspected armed robber found himself in the hospital following a tense encounter with the police in Bulawayo last Saturday.

James Moyo, the suspect, attempted to disarm a police officer who was equipped with a CZ pistol loaded with six rounds. As a result, Moyo was shot in the stomach during the altercation.

Police Statement Confirms the Shooting

Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday. He stated that the encounter took place in Queens Park, Bulawayo, when Moyo, along with Tinashe Dembure and Mthulisi Maphosa, was arrested for a robbery at Gunya Shopping Centre earlier that day.

Nyathi stressed that any confrontation with police would receive a suitable response. Moyo, the injured suspect, was taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals for treatment.
