Beer Drinking Spree Turns Deadly as Bulawayo Man Lost His Life to Nail Cutter Knife

A Bulawayo man aged 46 lost his life after being stabbed with a nail cutter knife during a disagreement during beer drinking spree.

Arrests Made in Connection with Murder Case

Following the incident, the police have taken three individuals into custody as suspects connected to the crime. Mbalehle Ncube (22), Hlonipani Sibanda (26), and Themba Moyo (26) were apprehended in relation to the murder.

Details of the Incident

According to Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, the fatal altercation occurred on November 26, 2023, at a residence in Emthunzini, Bulawayo. Fios Sibanda (46) was attacked by the suspects after an argument during the beer drinking spree.

Violent Assault Leading to Tragic Outcome

The police spokesperson provided further details, stating that Mbalehle Ncube struck the victim on the head with a plastic dish, while Themba Moyo used an electric cable to strike him on the back. Hlonipani Sibanda then infamously stabbed the victim with a nail cutter knife in the neck, resulting in his death.

Manhunt for Murder Suspect in Masvingo

In a separate incident in Masvingo, police are currently seeking Alward Zengwa (33) in connection with a murder case. Zengwa allegedly attacked his brother, Zvirwere Zvirwere, using a log and a switch as weapons. The assault was reportedly in response to Zvirwere’s failure to perform certain rituals to appease a deceased family member’s spirit. Tragically, Zvirwere succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Appeal for Information

Authorities in Masvingo are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Alward Zengwa to contact the nearest police station.
