Torn Between Two Worlds: Sunningdale Man’s Heartbreaking Choice – Girlfriend or Wife?
A man aged 35, hailing from Sunningdale, claims that his girlfriend abused him by pressurizing him to choose between her and his wife. In court Victor Neruwana revealed that Ruvarashe Bere(20) knew he was married.
Abusive relationship
Victor rented a place for Ruvarashe in Mufakose, but they never stayed together. He claims that she has been abusing him ever since he refused to leave his wife.
“She knew I was married from the beginning, but approached me when I was with my wife and asked me to choose between them,” said Victor.
Victor told the court that he could no longer stand Ruvarashe’s violent conduct towards him.
Betrayal and assault
Ruvarashe, on the other hand, said she felt betrayed by Victor after he forced her to drop out of school and abort her first pregnancy. She admitted to assaulting him out of anger. Ruvarashe claimed that he retaliated when she found out he was married.

“I assaulted him out of anger and he retaliated after I found out that he was married,” stated Ruvarashe. “I was in shock that we had stayed together for a year only to be jilted in front of his wife.”
Ruvarashe wants compensation for wasting a year, forcing an abortion, and taking care of her current pregnancy. She holds Victor responsible. “I want him to compensate me for wasting my time for a year and for forcing me to abort. He must also take care of me and my current pregnancy, which he is responsible for,” she said.
Court ruling
Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Victor’s application and advised Ruvarashe to stop being violent and think of her future. The magistrate also told Ruvarashe to apply for maintenance after birth and not resort to violence even though she was a victim, reported hmetro.
