Sad farewell: Dynamos fan whose lifeless body was found at Barbourfields laid to rest
Dynamos Football Club fan whose lifeless body was found at Barbourfields, was laid to rest at Umvutsha in the City of Kings. The burial was assisted by the Glamour Boys’ fan chapters.
Gibson Mahachi(47), was found dead on Monday at Barbourfields after he had witnessed Dynamos’ 2-0 win over Chicken Inn on Saturday. Reports claim he was drinking on the day.
Assistance from the Club
The club, through vice-chairman Vincent Chawonza, assisted with funds for Mahachi’s funeral. Club chairman, Moses Munganidze, extended his helping hand to Solomon Sishlokwa, the former Gweru fans chairman. He was also involved in an accident recently.

Support from Fan Chapters
Dynamos Supporters Association member, Benjamin Munzira, expressed gratitude for the club’s leadership and the overwhelming support from the fan chapters in these trying times. There are approximately twenty chapters across the country. Each contributed at least US$20 towards funding the funerals of formally registered fans within the chapters. Mahachi was not registered, and Sishlokwa was registered reported hmetro.
“We have about twenty chapters across the country. They have given overwhelming support in these trying times. In difficult times like these, we have chapters contributing about at least US$20,” said Munzira.
“The money goes a long way in funding and the funerals went well. We have these for formally registered fans within our chapters. I understand Solomon was registered though Mahachi was not registered.”
Confirmation from the Dynamos Bulawayo Chapter Fans Chairman
Dynamos Bulawayo Chapter fans chairman, Archford Pingurai, confirmed that the club and the chapters shared all the expenses in burying Gibson Mahachi at Umvutsha.
“I can confirm that we buried Gibson Mahachi at Umvutsha,” he stated. “The club and the chapters shared all the expenses.”
He also mentioned that Mahachi was survived by four children.
