Tragedy on Nyika – Zaka Road: 4 Dead, 6 Injured in Fatal Accident
In a tragic incident, four people lost their lives while six others were injured in a fatal road accident that occurred on Tuesday at around 1700 hours at the 3-kilometre peg along Nyika – Zaka Road. The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the accident involving a Toyota Hiace vehicle that was said to be carrying twenty-eight passengers at the time of the accident.
Vehicle Overturns Twice Before Landing on its Roof
According to the police report, the Toyota Hiace vehicle veered off the road and overturned twice before landing on its roof, resulting in the death of four passengers.
The injured were taken to Silveira Mission Hospital for treatment and are currently admitted at the same hospital.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the mortuary of the same hospital for post-mortem. The identities of the deceased have not been released to the public pending notification of their next of kin by the authorities.

Investigation Underway
The police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have lost control of the vehicle due to speeding. However, this has not been confirmed, and the investigation is ongoing.
