Woman Drags Partner Who Dumped Her For A Same-S%ex Relationship To Maintenance Court
A Harare woman Loveness Chokuvamba was recently in court seeking US$150 maintenance from her ex-husband, Agripah Chinzou, for the care of their two-year-old child. During the proceedings, Chokuvamba revealed a shocking revelation: her ex-husband had turned gay and had left her to stay with another man.
Chokuvamba accused Chinzou of being highly irresponsible and neglecting the needs of their child. She further claimed that Chinzou worked as a housing inspector for a housing cooperative and could easily afford to pay the maintenance she was requesting.
“He works as a housing inspector for a housing cooperative and can afford to pay US$150, but he is highly irresponsible and neglects the needs of his child,” said Chokuvamba.
However, it was Chokuvamba’s accusation of her ex-husband’s sexuality that took center stage. She explained that Chinzou had left their home after stealing some of her property with a man he had introduced to her as his friend. She alleged that Chinzou was now living with this man as his “wife.”
“He left home after stealing some of my property with a man he had introduced to me as his friend.
“He is now apparently staying with that man as the wife,” she said.
According to H-metro, Chinzou responded by offering US$50 and asserting that he could only afford that amount. He also denied Chokuvamba’s accusation of his sexual orientation, stating that she was giving the wrong impression of him.
“I can only afford to pay US$50. I have no problem with taking care of the child.
“She is giving the wrong impression of my sexuality,” he said without elaborating.
After hearing both parties’ arguments, Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini ordered Chinzou to pay US$80 in maintenance.
