Toxic Friendship: Harare Woman Seeks Peace Order Against Best Friend For Interfering In Her Marriage
A Harare woman Paidampyo Chiwanga, has come forward to seek peace order against best-friend Jonasi Chiwanga for allegedly interfering in her marriage. Chiwanga claims that Jonasi played a destructive role in her marriage, leading to abuse and turmoil.
The Friendship Turned Sour
Paidamoyo Chiwanga, 23, and Moreblessing Jonasi were once inseparable friends, living just a few houses apart. However, their friendship took a dark turn when Jonasi allegedly interfered in Chiwanga’s marriage, causing chaos and distress.
A Series of Unfortunate Events
According to Chiwanga, the situation escalated when Jonasi visited her home, resulting in a heated argument. Tragically, Chiwanga found herself on the wrong side of the law, being arrested and sentenced to community service. This incident marked the beginning of a downward spiral for Chiwanga’s marriage, reported hmetro.
Manipulation and Abuse
In May, Chiwanga made the difficult decision to leave her home after enduring abuse at the hands of her estranged husband. She claims that Jonasi played a significant role in instigating the violence by misleading her husband about a protection order she had obtained. Chiwanga alleges that Jonasi convinced her husband that the order was a means of control rather than a measure to ensure her safety.
Best-Friend Denies Accusations
In a surprising twist, Moreblessing Jonasi vehemently denies the accusations made against her. She asserts that she, too, was a victim of assault during the altercation. Jonasi claims that Chiwanga resorted to name-calling, labeling her a prostitute. She further alleges that Chiwanga attacked her with an axe when they were summoned to discuss the matter by their husband.
A Battle for Justice
The dispute between the two women reached the courtroom, where Magistrate Sharon Mashavira presided over the case. After careful consideration, Mashavira granted Paidamoyo Chiwanga the peace order she sought, providing her with legal protection against Jonasi’s alleged manipulation and harassment.
