Eyewitness Account

An uncle of Muchirawatu, who arrived at the scene, described the horrific aftermath. “I came here early in the morning around 5 a.m. after I heard people calling out for help,” he recounted. “The house was on fire. Upon arrival, I found the deceased’s body burning.”

He noted several deep cuts on his grandfather’s body. “It was clear to me that he had been murdered before being set on fire. In fact, he must have been stoned to death because stones were strewn all over the place. The stones had bloodstains, which suggested they had been used to inflict pain on the deceased. It was a scary sight, but I had to put out the fire,” he said.
