Mberengwa Father Arrested for Molesting Daughter in Front of Younger Sister

A 39-year-old father from Mberengwa has been arrested for allegedly molesting his 17-year-old daughter in front of her younger sister.

Daughter’s Harrowing Ordeal

In December, the daughter returned home from South Africa to find her father and younger sister at their shared residence. The father, who was allegedly intoxicated, entered the blankets with his 17-year-old daughter and began caressing her breasts, demanding sexual intercourse. When the daughter refused, the father forcibly removed her pants and proceeded to molest her.

Younger Sibling Witnesses Abuse

Woken by the commotion, the younger sister observed their father on top of the older daughter. Realizing his younger daughter had witnessed the incident, the father threatened to kill the girls if they revealed the assault.

Grandmother’s Failure to Act

The following morning, the younger sister informed their grandmother of the abuse. However, the grandmother, attempting to protect her son, did not report the incident to the police, despite promising to do so.

Relocation and Continued Abuse

The father then found a new place to live, taking his 17-year-old daughter with him and making her his wife. He continued to molest the girl on numerous occasions during the night.

Neighbors’ Intervention and Arrest

Concerned neighbors eventually reported the abusive relationship to the police, leading to the father’s arrest. He was brought before the Zvishavane Magistrate Courts, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for the heinous crime.

” A 39-year-old man from Chief Mataruse area in Mberengwa was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for raping his 17-year-old secondary school student daughter,” read the NPAZ press statement.
