Dramatic Violence at Highlanders-Dynamos Derby: ZRP Cannons Unleash Mayhem, Damaging Three Vehicles

During the Highlanders-Dynamos derby match, ZRP cannons  inadvertently damaging three vehicles, attempting to quell the dramatic violence that erupted at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo yesterday. The match, which saw Dynamos leading 2-0 in the first half, was forced to be abandoned after Highlanders fans entered the field to confront the referee.

Fans Vent Frustration as Riot Police Overpowered

Highlanders fans were left furious after their team was denied a penalty, leading to their entry onto the field to express their dissatisfaction. Riot police attempted to dismiss the fans, but their efforts were met with resistance as the supporters overpowered them.

As tensions escalated, riot police deployed water cannons to disperse the protesting fans. However, due to lack of water supply, the fans retaliated by attacking the water cannons. Amidst the commotion, two Honda Fit vehicles and a lorry were damaged

Derby Match’s Significance to Highlanders

The derby match held significant importance for Highlanders as they aimed to bounce back from consecutive defeats against FC Platinum and Chicken Inn. Their recent form has seen them win two matches, lose two, and draw one in their last five games.
